In the words of others…

It didn’t seem terribly, well, English, for us to show off about what we do, so instead, we’ve asked someone else to do it for us.

Extraordinary Africa organised our recent expedition to Tanzania to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. This was far from straightforward as the five climbers were arriving from both the UK and Kenya, had mixed climbing experience and an age range of 19 to 63! Alex’s attention to detail and consideration of the intricacies of our group ensured that we were all well prepared and the route up the mountain and guiding team chosen carefully for us. The climb itself was not without difficulty but as a result of Alex’s careful planning and the exceptional guiding team we all made it to the summit. Oh, and Alex, hiring that portaloo for the duration of the climb was nothing short of genius! An enormous thank-you from all of us. George, Hampshire UK and Gilgil, Kenya.

Alex arranged our honeymoon for us and it could not have been more perfect. From being whisked to Pemba Island on a private plane to the small touches like a surprise romantic dinner on the beach she had thought of everything. My mandate was fairly basic, absolute luxury but no dressing up and total relaxation and she hit the nail on the head. When you are marrying a divorce lawyer as I did you can’t take chances and Alex did not disappoint!

I have to say the leopard was one of the highlights of the trip. I’m told by people who have done a number of safaris that we were incredibly lucky to see this one and he was most obliging about having his photo taken! We spent a long time with him and it was magical!

There have been so many wonderful moments but the bush breakfast after our walk and the sundowners were also memorable along with the fishing trip for Peter as you can see from the grin on his face!

We really have had a holiday of a lifetime.

From start to finish Alex organised us the most amazing honeymoon you could wish for. From little touches to take away the strain of travelling by ensuring someone met us off the flight and took us through passport control, so we made the tight flight connection. To helping us choose a perfect safari lodge, with daily entertainment visible from our room with hippos galore, as well as the occasional crocodile. Every little moment was thought about, with a few suprises along the way including champagne in the room, luxury spa treatment and and special honeymoon dinner. We truly couldn’t have asked for more, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. In fact we already have two friends who also had spectacular honeymoon as a result!
