Luxury Beach Holidays in the Seychelles

In the Extraordinary Africa office we’re not naturals at beach holidays, but there’s something so enchanting about the Seychelles that we just can’t resist. Unlike so many other beach destinations, which have little to offer other than sea and sand (sorry Maldives…), the Seychelles have a distinctively Creole character and charm. The islands aren’t just empty sandbanks- they’re home to buried pirate treasure, Coco de Mer palms, extraordinary birdlife and a bustling local culture.

You’ll fly into the main island of Mahe, and most guests stay here, or on nearby Praslin, just a short hop away. There are number of excellent luxury resorts in the Seychelles, which work particularly well for families, or those who want a little easy comfort and relaxation.

Beyond here are endless tiny coral outcrops. Some are utterly exclusive private islands, fit for a royal honeymoon, others like charming little La Digue– perfect for a stay of a day or two and taking a cycle around the shoreline.
