Bringing the Herd

There are some fantastic places in Africa that work perfectly for large family groups. Zambia’s safari houses are famous for providing complete privacy and flexibility. You have your own game drive vehicles to explore at a pace that works for you, a team of staff ready to serve dinner at the time (or times) to suit you, and a private pool to leap in and out of whenever takes your fancy.

South Africa’s another option with some glorious family villas both in the bush, and out on the Garden Route beaches. In East Africa, consider taking some of the private camps and lodges exclusively, and look for places that offer a variety of activities so that there’s something to keep everyone entertained- Tanzania’s Selous Game Reserve and the Laikipia Plateau in Kenya are good places to start.
