Where to go in Africa in November

Extraordinary Africa>The Africa Calendar>November

In Kenya and Tanzania, November’s the short rainy season.  In exchange for the occasional afternoon storm, you’ll have low-season prices, deserted game reserves and camps and lodges largely to yourself.

In notoriously expensive Botswana, November (especially early in the month) is a fantastic time to take advantage of lower season prices. If the rains haven’t come yet, it can be one of the absolute best times for game viewing- just be prepared for the searing heat!

Over in Zambia, this is the perfect time of year to catch the fruit bat migration in Kasanka, or elephants parading through Mfuwe Lodge to eat from a nearby mango tree.

Lastly, down in South Africa, this is a dream time of year to hit Cape Town and the Garden Route, for chilled glasses of rosé in the sunshine.
