Extraordinary Africa>Mozambique>Mozambican Coast
As off the beaten track beaches go, the mainland coast of Mozambique is very firmly on the list. It’s impossible to get here without several flights, and quite often a fairly long drive too. However, for those in search of peace, authenticity and beauty, this would be a difficult spot to beat. These utterly unspoilt tropical beaches are broken only by the occasional fishing village and offer the kind of rural, beach-side idyll that most travellers can only dream about. There are just a couple of small, personal lodges to stay in here- Coral Lodge for a boutique feel, and Nuarro for those that want a laid-back eco-lodge.
