Onguma Tented Camp: The Lowdown

Extraordinary Africa > Namibia > Etosha>Onguma Tented

Take one laid-back, but incredibly stylish safari camp, a gorgeous waterhole, and a superb location next to Etosha National Park, and we think you’ve got the makings of a rather excellent safari. Welcome to Onguma Tented Camp!

What’s Onguma Tented Camp really like?

We’re huge fans of staying in tents at least once on a safari, and the ones at Onguma Tented Camp are just lovely. They’re stylishly designed with ensuite bathrooms (including an outdoor shower) and views out towards the lodge waterhole. There are just seven tents and the main mess area- two lounges, a large cosy fireplace for winter evenings, and a dining area that has sides that roll up in the summer, giving beautiful views out over the floodlit waterhole- one of the nicest we’ve seen in a long time.

What can I do at Onguma Tented Camp ?

As befits a lodge that’s next to Namibia’s finest game viewing area, the main draw of Onguma is the chance to take game drives in Etosha National Park. It works best as a base for self-drive visitors travelling with their own vehicles, though the lodge does have a vehicle for fly-in guests wishing to do game drives in the National Park. Guests also have the chance to book onto night game drives and walking safaris in Onguma’s private conservancy for an extra fee.
