Extraordinary Africa>Kenya>Amboseli and the Chyulus
One of the finest views in Kenya isn’t actually of Kenya- it’s looking out over the border at Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania from the lodges of Amboseli and the Chyulu Hills. Amboseli’s a gorgeous little park, and one that we’ve always loved- not least because it’s known for its spectacular herds of elephants. Unusually, we’d recommend taking a safari in Amboseli during the shoulder season (or even better, the low season). During this less popular, wetter times, the park has far fewer visitors and almost glows an emerald green. Next door, in the Chyulu Hills, you won’t find quite such prolific wildlife, but what a landscape. There are several private conservancies here that do some fantastic conservation projects with the local community and offer a real insight above and beyond the confines of a safari vehicle.

If you want to know about somewhere that’s not here- just ask, we’ve stayed at a huge number of lodges, but write them up slowly!
