What to do and Where to Stay in Nairobi

Extraordinary Africa>Kenya>Nairobi

Nairobi probably isn’t a place that’s at the top of many people’s bucket lists, and we can (partially) see why. It’s a big, busy, third-world city. If you have to transit between airports here you’ll experience the traffic and central Nairobi be voted Africa’s most beautiful city any time soon (for that see Cape Town). However, if you have a little time, there are a couple of truly lovely places to stay in Nairobi, and a night or so to unwind can often be just what you need before the excitement of safari.

In fact, a stay at Giraffe Manor is worth a night in Nairobi all by itself, especially if you’re visiting Kenya on a family safari. On top of this, there’s the chance to visit the giraffe sanctuary, the utterly delightful elephant orphanage, and the chance to stock up on a few goodies if you’re stopping by on your way home.

And if big city life is not for you, there are some truly charming places to stay in Nairobi National Park, away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.
