Lemala Ewanjan is a stylish tented camp in the Seronera Valley of the Serengeti National Park. This is one of the most prolific game viewing areas of the park, and Ewanjan makes an excellent base to return to after an exciting day on safari.
What’s Lemala Ewanjan really like?
Ewanjan has just 12 luxury tents overlooking the plains, all with large double or twin beds (the twins are generally two queen sized beds) and ensuite bathrooms with flushing loos and safari showers. Outside there’s a small verandah where you can enjoy your morning cuppa as the sun starts to warm the savannah, and there’s a cheery mess tent where you’ll meet other guests for breakfast. Meals are generally communal, which is a great way of meeting other guests and sharing tales of your daily adventures. In all, we’d say Ewanjan provides an excellent balance of comfort and authenticity for a stay in this part of the Serengeti.
What can I do at Lemala Ewanjan?
Activities in this wildlife-rich area of the Serengeti focus on game drives on the surrounding plains. We’ve found Seronera to be particularly good for seeing big cats. The rules of the national park restrict you to game drives during the day, meaning you’re usually back in camp in time for sundowners. For game drives you will either come to the camp with your own private guide, or fly into the camp and do shared game drives with one of the camp guides.
