Extraordinary Africa>Zambia>Lower Zambezi>Anabezi
Beautiful Anabezi is a distinctly stylish safari camp in one of our favourite areas for safari in the Lower Zambezi National Park.
What’s Anabezi really like?
Anabezi’s 12 huge luxury tents sit on a floodplain beside the Zambezi River. They’re more luxurious than many we’ve seen on our Zambian safaris, and we can understand why even the rather lovely communal areas aren’t enough to tempt people away from their rooms. As well as a bounceable bed each tent has a comfortable sitting area, indoor and outdoor bathrooms, and enticing plunge pools set into the deck. There’s even a family tent with a small second bedroom outside which works well for families on safari.
However, if we can lure you away from your tent, the Davy family are hands-on owners, and it shows in the rave reviews that guests have for Anabezi. There are two swimming pools, plenty of cosy chairs to snuggle up on, and a huge amount of space to spread out in. Meals tend to be eaten separately, so this is fairly private compared to many Zambian camps- though you might still end up sharing tales of the day’s excitements with other guests around the campfire.
What can I do at Anabezi?
We’ve long been impressed by the game viewing in this eastern part of the Lower Zambezi, and the guides here are excellent- the sort who can make birding or watching a dung beetle as fascinating as a lion. Your daily adventures can also incorporate boat safaris, catch and release fishing, canoeing on the river and of course, walking safaris, which we particularly loved after one too many generous Lower Zambezi safari lunches.
Giving back at Anabezi… recent solar panel purchases mean that Anabezi has now gone totally solar- bravo!
