Extraordinary Africa>Zimbabwe>Mana Pools
Located beside the Zambezi River and looking across at the beautiful mountains of the Lower Zambezi, Mana Pools is one of the most beautiful parks we’ve visited in Africa. We walked through mahogany trees which towered over herds of eland, which seemed to jump almost impossibly high. On night drives we watched as families of elephants were turned silvery by the light of the full moon, and hippos spluttered out of the water into the setting sun. Game drives in Mana Pools are usually excellent, and there are fantastic walking safaris. Canoe safaris are also incredibly special for safari-goers who want to do something a little more active, and being out on the water is a great way to see Mana’s spectacular birdlife.
