Extraordinary Africa>Uganda>Lake Mburo National Park
Lovely little Lake Mburo National Park is often viewed as merely a stopover between landing in Entebbe and the gorilla trekking at Bwindi. However, we’d say this is grossly unfair. Although one of the smallest national parks in Uganda, Lake Mburo manages to be one of the prettiest and most varied. Game viewing’s rewarding, especially for lovers of plains game, and birding’s just lovely around the lake. The relative lack of big predators makes this an ideal park for getting out of your vehicle and into the bush. Try riding safaris, either overnight or with a hamper for breakfast, walking safaris, or boat safaris. We particularly love the latter, and you might just get to see the rare African finfoot that seems to skiddle-skaddle across the water’s surface.
