Extraordinary Africa>Tanzania>Serengeti>Laba Migration Camp
Laba Migration Camp is one of the newest of the herd of safari camps which travel around the Serengeti seasonally, broadly tracing the path of the Great Migration. And while Laba may be a new arrival in the Serengeti, its owners certainly know a thing or two about running a safari camp- they run one of the oldest safari companies in Southern Tanzania.
What’s Laba Migration Camp really like?
The camp has 10 tents in total, 8 double or twin and 2 family tents which has two bedrooms linked by an enclosed corridor. We really love the modern safari style, with sand coloured tents, neutral décor, flashes of black and white, and plenty of interesting things to look at scattered around the main part of camp. Laba’s communal mess area is made up of a cosy lounge and bar, and a separate dining tent, though meals are often served outside. Dining is fresh, light and healthy, and remarkably for this kind of mobile camp, there’s a small gym tent.
What can I do at Laba Migration Camp?
Often our guests will arrive here with our own vehicles and guides to conduct their game drives privately. However, if you fly in, it’s possible to use the camp vehicles for shared game drives. Laba Migration Camp moves 3 times a year, so is often a safe bet for trying to spot the wildebeest migration (nature permitting), but even without the migration, the Serengeti rarely disappoints. The camp guides can also operate walking safaris and as an optional extra, depending on the location, it is possible to arrange hot air balloon safaris also.
