Extraordinary Africa>Tanzania>Serengeti>Lemala Mara & Ndutu Camps
We were amongst the very first guests to stay at Lemala Mara/Ndutu, and couldn’t have been more charmed by it. This is a seasonal camp, spending July-October amongst the rolling grasslands of the Northern Serengeti (Lemala Mara), and then December-March on the short-grass plains near Ndutu (Lemala Ndutu). The idea is that the camp broadly traces the footsteps of the wildebeest migration, so there’s a reasonable chance you might see the wildebeest migration during your stay.
What’s Lemala Mara & Ndutu Camp really like?
Lemala Mara & Ndutu Camps are a touch more luxurious than many of the seasonal camps in the Serengeti – the 12 luxury tents have two queen sized beds – ideal for friends travelling together or those cursed to share their beds with a duvet thief. The tents have ensuite bathrooms with flush loos and a generously sized safari shower, and lighting provided by solar. Outside, there is a small verandah where you can take in the view (hopefully a few thousand honking wildebeest) and enjoy your morning coffee. The two mess tents are cosy and comfortable- the lounge tent has comfortable sofas, and a few books and board games to distract you in the evenings, and next door there is also a dining tent.
What can I do at Lemala Mara & Ndutu Camp?
Our guests stay at Lemala Mara/Ndutu on different formats- guests who fly in will generally share game drives with other guests using a Lemala vehicle, while others will drive in with one of our guides for private game drives.
