Strand Hotel: The Lowdown

Extraordinary Africa>Namibia>Swakopmund>The Strand Hotel

Opened in late 2015, the Strand is one of the newer hotels in Swakopmund, with a fantastic location right on the “mole”.

What’s The Strand really like?

There are 125 rooms, the majority of which are standard rooms, with King or twin beds, and mainly looking out towards the sea, though a few look out over the gardens. Two of these rooms are specially designed with wheelchair users in mind. Luxury rooms are a little larger and all have sea views and a Juliet balcony, while suites are larger still and have balconies you can actually sit on.

What can I do at The Strand?

As you’d expect from this kind of 4* hotel, there’s a huge array of facilities on offer, with a spa and gym (not many of our travellers come to Namibia to use these, but a massage can be rather nice after a long road trip) as well as a choice of 5 different places to eat and drink if you don’t fancy any of the options available in town.
