Luangwa Bushcamping is an experience that really gets to the essence of the South Luangwa – exploring the wilderness on foot.
What is Luangwa Bushcamping really like?
Guests stay in simple stand up tents and sleep on mattresses on the floor. Outside each tent are a couple of folding chairs and a safari sink, and guests share a bucket shower and bush loo. There’s a chef to cook delicious meals and a camp assistant to light the campfire and make sure you are well looked after. There is no wifi or phone reception. This is simple, magical, remote, and a fantastic chance to connect with the bush.
What can I do at Luangwa Bushcamping?
You head out for a night or two with your guide and a maximum of 3 other guests, spending the day immersing yourself in the wilderness. Walks are usually 3-4 hours wandering through the bush. Typically you tend not to see big game as close up as you do in a vehicle, it’s a much more raw experience where you smell the smells, hear the sounds and notice the tiny details you miss when you’re on a game drive.
